About Population Center

POPULATION CENTER was formed as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 2017. As registered in its Memorandum of Association, its primary objects are:

• 1. "To carry out research and communications activities to create and utilize evidence of the implications of the rapid population growth on all facets of people's lives and the country's development prospects."
• 2. "To provide technical inputs in developing communication products that aim at bringing a behavioral change in the minds of people in line with the CCI-approved national narrative on population, which calls for creating a balance between resources and population size."

...and the Population Center also:

1. (a) intends to apply its profits and income towards those objects,
2. (b) prohibits the payment of any dividend or profit to its members and
3. (c) ensures that its objects and activities are not and shall not, at any time, be against the laws, public order, security, sovereignty and national interests of Pakistan.

We work on social sector development, on initiatives for improving maternal and child health, family planning, nutrition, sanitation, and safe drinking water. We especially focus on accessibility of these services for poor and marginalized populations who are disproportionately affected by the negative impact of high population growth on these sectors. The adverse impacts are exacerbated under calamitic conditions such as the current COVID-19 pandemic.
