About Population Center

Our History

Carrying forward decades of research, learning and policy engagement.

Population Center carries forward a long tradition of work undertaken through Population Council in Pakistan — from evidence generation and program innovation to policy engagement, communication and institutional partnership.

A Longstanding Tradition

Experience shaped acrossgenerations of work.

The institutional roots of Population Center extend through decades of work undertaken in Pakistan through Population Council.

Over time, this work evolved from research and evidence generation into program innovation, policy engagement, institutional strengthening and communication for change. It has contributed to a deeper understanding of population and demographic change, reproductive health, family planning, maternal and child health, adolescents and gender, service delivery and broader development priorities.

Across different periods, the work has involved close collaboration with governments, research institutions, development partners, service providers, civil society, media and communities — helping connect evidence with programs, policy dialogue and practical responses.

Population Center carries this accumulated experience forward through a distinct institutional platform, building on longstanding knowledge, relationships and approaches while responding to a new generation of population, health and development challenges.

What This Legacy Built

Experience that continuesto shape what comes next.

The value of this history lies not only in the work completed, but in the capabilities, relationships and ways of working that developed over time and continue to inform Population Center today.
