District Vulnerability Index for Pakistan: Harnessing Multisectoral Data to Inform Equitable Policy and Climate Action
Pakistan
The District Vulnerability Index for Pakistan (DVIP) uses publicly available multisectoral data to measure relative vulnerability across districts and support more equitable policy and climate action. The index combines 21 indicators across six domains—housing, communication and transportation, livelihoods, access to health services, access to public education, and demographics—and demonstrates how district vulnerability can be paired with climate-risk data to identify populations and locations facing overlapping structural and external risks.
