Voucher Model for Family Planning

A DAFPAK component linking social protection with reproductive health services to reduce financial and access barriers for poor women in Punjab.

Project Overview

About the project

The Family Planning Voucher Scheme links social protection with reproductive health services to reduce financial, transportation, mobility, and access barriers for poor women. Developed with BISP and the Punjab Population Innovation Fund, the model enables eligible women to obtain family planning services from accredited public and private providers through digital verification and voucher processing. The approach has been rigorously evaluated and subsequently expanded in Punjab, demonstrating how demand-side financing can improve access, contraceptive uptake, and women's ability to make informed reproductive choices.
