Maintaining the Momentum of the Family Planning Task Force Recommendations in Pakistan
A Gates Foundation-supported initiative that developed and communicated evidence-based 'Best Bets' for accelerating family planning progress in Pakistan and sustaining momentum around national family planning recommendations.
Project Overview
About the project
This project responded to national concern over Pakistan's population growth and supported implementation of recommendations adopted through the Council of Common Interests. The Population Council worked with the Government of Pakistan to reframe population messaging around voluntary and rights-based approaches, provide national and provincial task forces with evidence to support priority actions, and advocate for improvements in the quality and availability of family planning data. The project also produced evidence-based 'Best Bets' on financing, community health workers, private-sector engagement, voluntary rights-based vouchers, and engagement of men and boys.
