About the project
The Population Center collaborated with the National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health to analyze causes of maternal and pregnancy-related deaths and levels of delay using verbal-autopsy data from the Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey 2019. A panel of expert obstetricians, gynecologists and physicians reviewed 1,177 verbal-autopsy questionnaires and classified causes of death using WHO ICD-10 categories.
