About this publication

Overview

This policy brief examines the vulnerability and adaptive capacity of Pakistan's population in the context of climate change and rapid population growth. Using climate trends and demographic, agricultural, labor-force, health, and household evidence across agro-ecological zones, it considers agriculture and food security, livelihoods, poverty and living conditions, fertility and child survival, migration, and urbanization. The brief argues for adaptation strategies that strengthen population-level adaptive capacity while addressing health systems, social protection, sustainable agriculture, urban resilience, women's empowerment, and universal access to family planning.
